GURUPURNIMA (
---------------------------GURU PURNIMA: THE FULL moon day in the month of Ashad (July-August) is an extremely auspicious and holy day of Guru Purnima. On this day, sacred to the memory of the great sage, Bhagavan Sri Vyasa. Sri Vyasa has done unforgettable service to humanity for all times by editing the four Vedas, writing the eighteen Puranas, the Mahabharata and the Srimad Bhagavata. We can only repay the deep debt of gratitude we owe him, by constant study of his works and practice of his teachings imparted for the regeneration of humanity. In honor of this divine personage, all spiritual aspirants and devotees perform Vyasa Puja on this day, and disciples worship their spiritual preceptor. The Srutis say: “To that high-souled aspirant, whose devotion to the Lord is great and whose devotion to his Guru is as great as that to the Lord, the secrets explained herein become illuminated”. Guru is Brahman, the Absolute, or God Himself. He guides and inspires you from the innermost core of your being. He is everywhere. Have a new angle of vision. Behold the entire universe as the form of the Guru. See the guiding hand, the awakening voice, the illuminating touch of the Guru in every object in this creation. The whole world will now stand transformed before your changed vision. The world as Guru will reveal all the precious secrets of life to you, and bestow wisdom upon you. The supreme Guru, as manifested in visible nature, will teach you the most valuable lessons of life. Become a personification of receptivity. Empty yourself of your petty ego. All the treasures locked up in the bosom of Nature will become yours. You will progress and attain perfection in an amazingly short time. The moon shines by reflecting the dazzling light of the sun. It is the full moon on the Purnima day that reflects in full splendor the glorious light of the sun. It glorifies the sun. “The Guru’s form should be meditated upon; the feet of the Guru should be worshipped; his words are to be treated as a sacred Mantra; his Grace ensures final liberation”. Take fresh resolves on this holy day, to tread the spiritual path in accordance with the precepts of your Guru. At night, assemble again with other devotees, and sing the Names of the Lord and the glories of your Guru. The best form of worship of the Guru is to follow his teachings, to shine as the very embodiment of his teachings, and to propagate his glory and his message.

THE JOY OF SHARING GOOD THINGS
Amongst God’s creations, man is perhaps the most selfish. If he
happens to get even a small monetary benefit, he will never disclose it to
anyone. Another well-known tendency is his preference to enjoy his meal or any
special dish all alone and not to share it with others. Scriptures ask him not
to remain isolated in such circumstances. Joy lies in distributing the same to
others.
Even crows call other
members of their tribe when someone throws a crumb. The tree, to which water is
poured at the roots, grows upwards and yields fruits for the benefit of
humanity. On other hand, when man meets with calamities and is not able to face
them, he will immediately curse God, forgetting all the good that he had thus
far been conferred with.

3. SAI IN DREAMS:

These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SaiBaNiSa Ji From our
beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that this feature will
help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled from his personal Diary and presented to
SAIBANDHUS.
Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY.
I was thinking more about the physical body given by God and its
protection. I could hear only the words emanating from a beacon of light as
below:
I am formless, but to offer protection to my devotees, I may
have to appear in different forms to shoulder their difficulties. Remember that
your physical body requires all the care for its well being, till all the
responsibilities in life are executed.
One should be physically healthy to tide over the periods of
mental stress and to face crisis events. Mental ailments should be put under
check so that they do not become stumbling blocks even for leading a normal
life.
Take care of the physical body to the extent required.
Yesterday I prayed Baba to grant me permission to correct the
Vaastu deficiencies in my house. Baba had taken my memory lane way back to the
year 1967 when I was working in
Sincere calls are always answered.
Yesterday, one of my close relatives caused me lot of
humiliation. I was disturbed mentally and prayed my master to help me in
overcoming the mental agony. The visual was an eye-opener for me-
A housewife has got news that her in-laws are arriving the next
day morning. She prepares to welcome them with a broomstick in hand, readily
waiting to pounce on them. The Auto rickshaw stopped just in front of their
house. To her surprise the guests getting down turned out to be her own
parents. She repented for the guilt in her, and took it as directive from God
as threw away the broomstick. She realized the mistake committed and took a vow
not to repeat such mistakes again. Thus my thinking got changed and faith in
the almighty increased.
Once the mental blocks are overcome, the vision changes for the
better.
Yesterday, the domestic front was in disturbed condition with
ill health of a member causing concern and with difference of opinions on all
fronts. I was literally helpless and fed up with life. Sai appeared as an
unknown person and said-
Difficult times are like
dirt to the linen. However it never means that we will throw away the clothes.
Instead, we try washing them up with a good detergent for them to be used
again. In the same way, difficulties are to be surmounted praying for the
divine grace.
Pray for the divine grace rather than running away from them.

4. QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S
PHILOSOPHY:
(By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao)
"Shashi": shashi_31@yahoo.com
23. Human Body is
Dharmakshetra
Human birth occurs as a result of both good and bad deeds
performed in previous birth and hence enjoy joys and sorrows are intrinsic to
it. Human nature is such that man will take the credit for himself when he is
successful and denounce providence for his lost when beset with problems forgetting
the fact that he is reaping only the result of his earlier misdeeds.
The God dispenses according to man’s Karma and he is never
partial. Further, it must be borne in mind that God never allows His devotees
to suffer in life. When a person experiences sorrows, he must be convinced that
his suffering is due to his earlier misdeeds and instead of bemoaning his fate,
his devotion must get further strengthened and he must continue to discharge
his duties properly.
Life in the world continues to be a struggle as long as a person
does not realize the true nature of his Self (Atman). As long as he identifies
himself with his mind-body complex because of ignorance, its afflictions
continue to trouble him. The way out of this struggle is by Self- realization.
The stages in which spiritual progress can proceed with success involved first
an active life, the path of action, during which he masters the way to act in
the world with detachment. The result of practicing selfless action is
purification of mind, which is necessary for the further spiritual evolution.
Ignorance of the nature of the Self, which is the cause of bondage, can be
removed only by spiritual knowledge. Hence the path of action can not by itself
lead to Self- realization

SANATANA DHARMA –NEWS FROM ABROAD:
For the hour which follows, mantras are chanted and rituals carried out to
offer the Lord food and praise Him and chanting His asthora shatanamavalli (108
names of the Deity). At 0700, kirtanam and bhaajanam groups will take over, and
every hour a different group will take their turn to sing the glory of the Lord
of the seven hills. This kirtanam and bhajanam session will last up to 1700.
From this moment the acharyas will start making preparation for the concluding puja,
namely the shri venkateshwara agnihotram. A maha yagna marked by the use of a 3
metres long piece of teak wood with a carved elephant head for the purnahoothi
(ghee offering ladle). At this particular moment over three litres of pure ghee
will poured into the Khundha (fire pit). This is a spectacular moment where
devotees can see the Lord through the glazing flames of the fire--a once in a
lifetime vision. The aalayam is visited by hundreds of devotees throughout the
day. Devotees which come from all around the island.
Bhojanam and prashadam (food) will also be offered throughout the day. This
puja was first celebrated in 2001 and was organized by the Eau-Coulee Andhra
Youth Wing with the immense support of Achraya Shri Sanjeeva Narasimha Appadoo.
We hope that this year also the puja will be a resounding spiritual success.

OFFERS PRANAMS TO “LORD SIVA”
Specialities of Rameswaram
The place where the JyotirLinga is located, a large and
expansive temple has been built. It is famous in the world as a typical
architectural example. In the Ramnad district of Tamilnadu, this temple is
situated on a big island of sand. It is worth seeing and is a wonderful
experience. The main entrance of the temple tower has many storeys and stands
tall. Its structure carvings, statutes and the peaks make people dumb founded.
The grandeur of the Lord is really felt here. The human weakness for being
narrow-minded is automatically removed and they feel their horizons broadened.
On the tall stone pillars of temple, beautiful carvings can be
seen. Elephants with their trunks raised are seen. The four sides of the temple
are enclosed by strong stone walls. They are 650 ft. and 12ft. wide and tall
respectively. This wonderful temple built on the sand island, is a work of
great art and very impressive.
Near to a gold plated pillar, a river is carved on a monolithic
stone of 13 feet high and a foot wide. This indeed is a typical example of
beautiful sculpting.
Near the main

Brahmakund, Galawa teerth, Mangala teerth, Kodandaram teerth, Pandav teerth
etc., The waters at all these places is sweet and has a taste of its own. Every
teerth has a typical story attached to it. Devotees take Darshan and feel
purged by doing so.

SAI WITH CHILDREN:
http://www.saidarbar.org/HTML/portraits/7.jpg
Smt. Madhu Gopal Ravada, Saidarbar,
Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with children
and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting Saidarbar should be
entertained with good stories. For the last 2 years I have told you about Lord
Krishna's Leelas and Lord Rama Story. Now I want to tell the stories what heard
in my child hood.
THE TALKING CAVE:
Once there lived a lion in a forest. He had grown old now and so
found it difficult to hunt. Often his prey escaped him, and then he had to
sleep hungry. He did not know what to do.
One day he roamed in the forest a long time in search of a prey.
He was tired and hungry. But he could not catch anything. Suddenly he came
across a cave. He said to himself. “There must be someone living in that cave.
I shall hide behind the bush and pounce on him as he comes out."
He kept waiting and waiting but nobody came out. Tired, the lion
thought that probably the owner of the cave was away. It would be better for
him to go inside the cave and wait for his arrival. The moment the owner
entered his cave he would kill him. So he entered the cave and hid himself in a
corner there.
That cave, in fact, belonged to a jackal. After some time he
returned to the cave. Now, the jackals are clever and cautious creatures. So,
when he neared his cave, he saw some footprints entering his cave. No foot-
prints were coming out. He at once knew someone was inside the cave. It must be
a dangerous creature. It would not be wise to enter the cave without making
sure.
So the clever jackal spoke loudly, "Cave, O my dear
cave."
There was no reply. The jackal again called out, “O my dear
cave, what is the matter with you? Earlier you always welcomed me when I came
back. Why are you keeping quiet today? If you do not speak to me, I shall go
away elsewhere."
The lion was listening to the words of the jackal. He foolishly
though that probably the cave was actually in the habit of welcoming the jackal
on his return. That day it was keeping quiet out of fear of the lion. Now, if
the jackal was not spoken to, he would go away somewhere else. So the lion
called out in his heavy voice, "Come home my friend, I welcome you."
The clever jackal recognized the voice of the lion. He
immediately ran away, leaving the foolish lion waiting inside the cave.

9. ARTICLES FROM SAI DEVOTEES:
"Sankaraiah Dubagunta" sainama@yahoo.com
The seventh Nama in the 108 Glorious
Names of Sai is 'Om Sri Sai Sarvahrunnilayaya Namaha' which means salution to
Pranava Swarupa Sai who dwells in the hearts of all. The 68th Nama is 'Om Sri
Sai Sarvantaryamine Namaha' which means Salutions to Sri Sai who is all
pervasive. Sri Sai Satcharitra gives a number of incidents to show the above
attribute of Sai. Sai Baba Himself declared "I'm the inner ruler of all
and I am seated in their hearts. All the insects, ants, the visible, movable
and immovable world is my Body and Form (Chap 3). A Sarvartaryami Sai only
could push His arm into the ever burning Dhuni of Dwarakamai to save a
blacksmith's child who slipped into the furnace at a far off place.
Once Mrs. Tarkhad, an intimate devotee
of Baba gave a piece of bread to a hungry dog before going to Dwarakamai for
the Noon Harathi. Baba was pleased with this act of the devotee and said
"Mother! You have fed Me sumptuously upto my throat,
My afflicted Pranas have been satisfied. First give bread to the hungry and
then eat yourself. A dog which you saw before meals and to which you gave bread
is one with me so also other creatures (cats, pigs, flies etc.,) I'm roaming in
their forms. He who sees Me in all creatures is My
beloved (Chap 9).On another occasion Baba called Laxmibai Shinde and said
"O Lakshmi! I'm very hungry”, she immediately ran to her house, prepared
bread and vegetable and brought it to the Dwarakamai. Baba who was very hungry
gave it to a dog. When Laxmibai was unhappy to see that Baba did not eat her
bread, Sai said to her "The appeasement of the dog's hunger is the same as
mine. The dog has soul as mine. The creatures may be different but the hunger
of all is the same. He who feeds the Hungry, really
serves Me with food. Regard this as axiomatic truth”. How wonderfully Baba has
taught us, His children to see Him in all creatures. This great lesson is not
to laxmibai alone but to all at all times.
In Chap 15 of Sai Satcharitra
Omnipresent Sai declares "Though I am here bodily still I know what you do
beyond the seven seas. Worship Me always who is seated
in your heart as well as in the hearts of all beings. Blessed and fortunate
indeed is he who knows Me thus". Baba says that
he who knows that He is seated in all hearts is blessed and fortunate one. We
may add here one can conquer lust, anger, greed, jealously, haterd and egoism (six
enemies of man), If one thinks that every other man's heart is Sai's abode. It
is because we cannot hate Sai, we cannot be jealous of Sai so on and so forth.
We have to respect and love every creature who is a Sai Swarupa.
Let us Pray to all merciful Sai to give
us the eyesight to see Him in all creatures.
