3. SAI
PHILOSOPHY:
SAI PHILOSOPHY FROM THE DIARY OF SAI.BA.NI.SA.
These messages
are the outcome and essence of the dream sequences of Saibanisa as given by
Lord Sainath, which reflect the Sai Philosophy and his high thinking. They
carry a sense of deep meaning and are generally thought provoking, enough to
set one’s thinking process.
Translated and
presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY.
176) 31st October 1994: Bad thoughts are always associated
with anger. Therefore, keep away from anger for self-realization.
177) 5th November 1994:
The mind is a bundle of desires capable of transporting the desires like
a rocket. Once the fuel is exhausted, it has to fall to the ground. Realization
of this truth is self-control.
178) 6th November 1994:
Do not waste your time in discharging social obligations only. Time also
should be spent in constant thinking of "GOD" to lead a peaceful
life.
179) 17th December 1994: You talk more when you are not
working. Create more work in "ADHYATMA" paving the way for self-realization.
180) 20th December 1994: Saints around us are the messengers
of "GOD" sent by him to take care of humanity at large.

I was
traveling in a Bus along with my wife and children. The Bus stopped on the way
in a small village .I got down to drink some water and in the mean while the
Bus started off. I was stranded and eagerly looking for an alternative mode of
transport to reach them. I saw a cab approaching from the road end. SAI himself
was at the driving wheel. He stopped near me and addressed – “I shall take you
to your destiny and what DAKSHINA can you give me “. Immediately I took out a
coconut from my bag and put it in to his hands. In his hands it got changed in
to a ‘Shiva linga’. I occupied the
front seat next to him and the cab speeded away.
Living
together is only to part one day or other.

SAI appeared
in the form of, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and took me to our old rented
house (during the year 1964) situated in Kakinada a small town in our State.
There he choose to remind of my past with the words – “It is in this house you
have first taken to my name and I know you since 1964”. I got up from my sleep
and recaptured the similar event from 33rd chapter of Sai
Satcharitra where in Baba says to Bala Buva Sattar-“I know you since four
years”, even though it was his first visit to Shiridi. Bala Buva Sattar
happened to bow down to Sai’s photograph in his friend’s house exactly four
years ago.
HE is sarvaataryaami.
Dated: 10-06-1992.
Sai came in
the form of Chief Executive of our Establishment and said –“I was out of
station for the past one month. Now that I am back, start all the works which
you have stopped”. I recalled that I have stopped reading Satcharitra parayana
for the past 30 days. I was glad that Sai reminded me of my duties in the form
of Head of our Organization. I concluded that Sai not only keeps a watch but
also always thrives for the spiritual development of his devotes.
The path of righteousness keeps track of itself.

5. SPIRITUAL
GEMS FROM SAI SATCHARITRA:

Sai Ram. Let
us now proceed with the 14th Chapter of Sai Satcharitra and see what Sai gives
us.
"In the last Chapter, we described how Baba's word and grace cured many
incurable diseases. Now, we shall describe, how Baba blessed Mr. Ruttonji Wadia
with an issue." Sai Ram. Disease of the body or mind, nothing is
impossible for Sai, who is beyond the confines of space and time. The
thirteenth chapter described the physical diseases. This chapter describes a
different type of disease, which literally means lack of ease or unhappiness.
How many friends do we know who have almost everything but still lack some
thing and thus are unhappy? Such a state of mind comes with a definite purpose.
It is to bring us to a cross road, where we make a choice and take one of the
two roads, one of Jnana and the other of Bhakti. The road of Jnana is chosen by
those who realise that all desires are seeds for further karma and so try to
use this unhappiness to drive them to a desire less state. Others, who are not
yet ready, use this uneasiness or unhappiness to spur them to seek the refuge
of God or Guru to get the desire fulfilled and thus removes the happiness. This
in turn purifies them and thus makes them fit to receive the grace of God and
thus will make them fit to choose the path of Jnana at the next cross roads.
And when the path of Jnana becomes difficult to follow, the next crossroad
comes along as if by magic! And lo, we can choose the path of Bhakti there and
then. Thus these two paths are closely interwoven.
Ratanji Wadia chose the path of Bhakti. By coming to Shirdi and by worshipping
Sai with full faith, he got his heart's desire for children fulfilled. He also
got a very valuable spiritual lesson about the oneness of Spirit, in the form
of the oneness of Sai with Moulisaheb. "The life of this Saint is
naturally sweet in and out. His various doings, eating, walking and His natural
sayings are also sweet. His life is Bliss incarnate." Sai Ram. It is sweet
to those whose demerits have been sufficiently reduced so that they develop a
liking to stories of God and Saints. They have turned their backs to evil (see
how evil and veil share the same letters, it is the veil of ignorance which
drives us to do evil) and have taken the first few steps towards light, towards
truth, so that they realize their true nature, which is not different from that
of God and His representatives, Saints like Sai.
"Sai gave it out as a means of His devotee's remembrance to Him. He gave
them various stories of duty and action, which ultimately led them to true
religion. His object may be that people should live happily in this world, but
they should be ever cautious and gain the object of their life, viz.
self-realization. We get human body as a result of merits in past births and it
is worthwhile that with its aid, we should attain devotion and liberation in
this life. So we should never be lazy, but always be on the alert to gain our
end and aim of life. If you daily hear the Leelas (stories) of Sai, you will
always see Him. Day and night you will remember Him in your mind, when you
assimilate Sai in this way, your mind will lose its fickleness and if you go on
in this manner, it will finally be merged in pure Consciousness." Sai Ram.
Sai pulled various devotees to His feet, fulfilled their desires (which were
benign and were due to ripen by their earlier merits in some past births) and
thus increased their faith in Him. Not only their faith, but of many more who heard
of the stories and thus came in fulfillment of their desires. Very few devotees
came in search of self-realization and liberation from the cycle of birth and
death. They, like us, were simply not ready. Sai, like Buddha was and is very
patient. He was full of Saburi, the very quality that He was always emphasizing
His devotees to develop. And He had full faith (Sraddha) in Allah, Fakir, Ram,
Rahim, call Him what you will, who placed these wards in Sai's care, that
sooner or later, they will come to Him to get the real boons, the real khazana
of spiritual truths.
One of the devotees who was thus pulled to His feet was Ruttonji of Nanded. We
will continue with the story in the next issue. Sai Ram.

6.QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY:
